The City of Clearwater, Fla. Gears Up for Holiday Festivities 

 

 

New York, NY – November 5, 2015– The City of Clearwater, Fla. is kicking off the holiday season with a number of festive events in celebration of its Centennial year.

 

The 39th Annual Christmas Under the Oaks Arts & Crafts Show presented by the North Pinellas Woman’s Club will take place on November 15 at the scenic Coachman Park. Vendors will be selling a variety of hand-crafted items from jewelry and pet clothing to hula hoops and paintings with everything in between.

 

The Festival of Trees, in support of The Arc Tampa Bay Foundation, will display over 125 uniquely decorated Christmas trees, hundreds of wreaths and numerous decorations created by local artists, businesses and community leaders from November 20-22 at The Long Center. The festival will feature Candyland streets, live entertainment, visits from Santa and a Santa’s Children’s Village, where children can create holiday crafts.

 

On Thanksgiving Day, The Tampa Bay Times Turkey Trot will host more than 17,000 runners of all levels beginning on Keene Road and ending at Clearwater High School. Sure to build an appetite, runners can choose between the 5K Wingding, 5K Fun Run, 1 Mile Gobbler, 10K Turkey Trot and Clearwater Challenge. Winners will receive trophies and proceeds are donated to local charities. Canned good and non-perishable food will also be collected.

 

The 2015 Memorial Lighted Boat Parade features boats decked out in holiday lights on the evening of December 12, with prizes awarded for the best decorated boats. The parade will begin in Mandalay Channel before weaving through the Island Estate canals and concluding at the Clearwater Yacht Club.

 

The Hilton Clearwater Beach will host the Outback Bowl Beach Day on December 30, for a day of fun with football teams, their marching bands and cheerleaders on the beach. The day will include live music, skydivers, tug-of-war and other contests. At the end of the day, visitors can head over to Sunsets at Pier 60, featuring artisans, music and more while watching the sunset.

 

Light It Up Clearwater is the dazzling New Year’s Eve celebration consisting of midnight fireworks on Clearwater Beach, compliments of the Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce and their sponsors.
