STREB Newsletter – Gala Highlights & Daring Beyond

On behalf of all of us, thank you for making our first-ever virtual Gala a success! Last Monday, over 150 of you tuned in to help us celebrate our 2020 Action Maverick, Joshua Ramus. If you weren’t able to be there, we hope you will enjoy a special recording of the premiere of HORIZON LINE, Elizabeth’s new piece created especially for Zoom (no editing!):

STREB Action Heroes give each other some support in a “circus” moment from HORIZON LINE.
We had so much fun seeing enthusiastic reactions and chatting with our supporters at the event. You recharged our appreciation for how astonishing, how courageous, and how inspiring the STREB community is. The Gala also underscored our continued focus on the future. In addition to unveiling designs for new action machines, we announced the launch of our Daring Beyond Fund.

#STREBDaringBeyond was created to ensure that even amidst the current uncertainty, we can look toward tomorrow with confidence, creativity, joy, and defiance. Will you help STREB navigate an uncharted future by making a donation today? Gifts of any size will allow us to keep our staff and Action Heroes employed and supported, our community engaged and inspired online, and our financial health and operations robust as we continue to dream.

Thank you again to your generous community – especially our Gala attendees and supporters – for making this daring possible. With your help, STREB will boldly leap into tomorrow.

We dare you to fly alongside us.
Social Safety. Artistic Risk. #STREBDaringBeyond

This week, we also shared Elizabeth’s insights into the beautifully messy GUCK Machine which was unleashed last September as part of FALLING & LOVING.

Daniel Rysak, a 10-year veteran of the company, shared what STREB’s core principle of Personal Best means to him. And we gave you a peek at what the Kid Company is working on for their final performance under the direction of Associate Artistic Director Cassandre Joseph.

For our long listen of the week, from our friends at the Fractured Atlas People Team, Elizabeth sat down for an interview as part of their Work. Shouldn’t. Suck. LIVE: The Morning (ish) Show.

Have a confident, creative and joyful week!
