Celebrating Ten Years with
Baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky In Recital

Show One Productions, founded in 2004 by Russian Impresario Svetlana Dvoretsky, is celebrating ten years of presenting internationally renowned artists, orchestras, dance companies and unique attractions in Toronto and across Canada. Beginning this spring, Show One will present a variety of special tenth anniversary performances, including the return of two of its favourite musical guests along with the Canadian premiere of a legendary theatre company.

One of the worlds greatest and most versatile opera stars, Baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky, makes his recital debut in Toronto with longtime partner, pianist Ivari Ilja, at the acoustically stunning Koerner Hall on Saturday, June 1 @ 7pm, with a repertoire that includes works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Medtner and Liszt. “One of the most remarkable international vocal careers ever, his voice is redolent of luxury: beautiful tone, pinpoint intonation, elegant, and impassioned delivery,” The New York Times

“For 10 years, Show One Productions has been proudly presenting internationally acclaimed artists from around the world and from many different ethnic backgrounds with a variety of religious and political beliefs,” said Dvoretsky, “but when it comes to choosing our artists, we have only one consideration, the most important of all: artistic merit.”

Over the past decade, Svetlana Dvoretsky with Show One Productions has presented an eclectic line-up of illustrious artists who have enthralled and engaged audiences across Canada in the country’s greatest concert halls and houses including: Valery Gergiev with the Mariinsky Orchestra; John Malkovich in The Giacomo Variations; the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra with Yannick Nézet-Séguin; Belgian pop singer Lara Fabian in her long-awaited return to Canada; the Canadian premiere of clowning sensation Aga-Boom; and critically-acclaimed dance companies Les Ballets Trockaderos de Monte Carlo (US), Tango Fire (Argentina) Maria Pages Flamenco Company (Spain) and the Canadian debut of the St. Petersburg Eifman Ballet (Russia); to name only a few of their hundreds of shows.
