Registration now open for 2014 Summer Theatre Programs
Learning opportunities for children, teens and adults from age 7-107!

(Venice, FL) Registration is open for Venice Theatre’s annual summer theatre camps and classes for children, teens and adults. This summer, there are two 2-week camp sessions (a morning and an afternoon) and two 4-week production sessions (a morning and an afternoon) for students in grades 3- 12.  For students going into grades 1 and 2 there is a 2-week afternoon session offered July 21 – August 1, 2014.  The 4-week campers will have the choice of two different concentrations. The morning session will focus on acting and the afternoon session will focus on musical theatre.  Both will audition, rehearse and perform a MainStage production written by the theatre’s playwright-in- residence, Ronald Krine Myroup.  Additionally, an evening specialty class for more experienced students will stretch their acting muscles using a modern adaptation of The Canterbury Tales.   This class is by invitation or permission only.   A variety of audition, comedy and English writers workshops is offered for adults. Fees range from $125 – $385.

Instructors include theatre professionals Kelly Duyn, Scott Keys, Peter Ivanov, Cathleen McClendon, Cathy Baudrit-Noeth, Amy Blake, Gladys Varga and Jan Wallace. Tuition scholarships are available for qualified applicants.

To register or find out further information, call Venice Theatre’s Director of Education and Outreach, Sandy Davisson or Assistant Director, Candace Artim at 941-486-8679. Online registration is available at www.venicestage.com.  To make registration more convenient, the theatre offers “EZ” payment options via bank draft or credit card.

All classes and camps take place at the theatre at 140 W. Tampa Ave. on the island in Venice. Advanced registration and a non–refundable payment in full or EZ Pay installment arrangement is required.
