MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYERS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION BRINGS SWING WITH THE LEGENDS GOLF CLASSIC TO HOUSTON
Event to feature Jimmy Wynn, Larry Dierker, Phil Garner and more than 40 other MLB Alumni
Colorado Springs, Colo. The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association will host a Swing with the Legends celebrity golf tournament featuring former Houston Astros, All-Stars, World Series Champions and other baseball alumni. The event will take place on Monday, April 18th with proceeds benefitting Tonys Prostate Cancer Research, a charity devoted to finding a cure for the disease.
Alumni players attending* the event include three-time All-Star Jimmy Wynn,former Astros managers Larry Dierker and Art Howe and16-year MLB veteran Phil Garner, as well as Bernie Allen, Alan Ashby, Bob Aspromonte, Ken Aspromonte, Micah Bowie, Archie Corbin, Jose Cruz Jr., Jerry DaVanon, Jeff DeWillis, John Edwards, Jim Foor, Charles Gipson, Jason Grimsley, Todd Haney, Bill Heath, Trenidad Hubbard, Mike Jackson, Cliff Johnson, Andy Kosco, Frank Kostro, Rodney McCray, Chuck McElroy, Wally Moon, Balor Moore, Frank Quilici, Andre Robertson, Ken Sanders, Mike Smith, Don Stanhouse, Greg Swindell, Dickie Thon, Mark Thurmond, Bobby Tolan, Brian Williams, Kevin Witt, Gerald Young and Pat Zachry. These 41 players combine for 383 seasons, 25,253 games and 16,447 hits in Major League Baseball.
The tournament will take place at the Champions Golf Club, with a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m. located at 13722 Champions Drive, Houston, TX 77069. After the tournament there will be an awards dinner, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
