“Henry Fong just dropped the booty anthem of summer.” – This Song Slaps
“From stellar mixes to stand out electro house productions, Henry Fong is showing the world that his decision to focus on electronic dance music after graduation was the right one.” – YourEDM
Los Angeles, CA – Having pushed out lucrative hits in his signature island electro bounce sound, the dreadlocked Henry Fong now charges ahead with a dancehall & moombah infused 100BPM number, “Drop It Down Low,” out now on Dim Mak. Recently premiered on Hardwell On Air, the rhythmic jam conjures all the elements of an islander’s paradise: a sizzling beat, bouncing percussion and an urge to dutty wine and grind. On vocal duties is Kingston’s Richie Loop, who adds a flavorful chorus of ragga chants.
Henry Fong’s impact in the dance world started in 2013 with a whirlwind of high-energy releases. Tracks like “Hot Steppa,” “Encore” with his friend MAKJ, and the big brass sounding “Stand Up” cemented his unique sound within the dance scene. Since then, Henry has earned many accolades. Billboard named him as one of their “Next Big Sound” artists, Complex named him an “Artist To Watch,” and Annie Nightingale donned him as one of her Future Stars on BBC Radio 1.
Henry has seized this energy and continues to light up packed dance floors around the world (when he isn’t surfing, that is). Last year he launched his very own label Banzai Recs, where he released his smash “Wine Dem,” which spent over 80 days in the Beatport Top 100 chart. The track has been supported by virtually every A-list DJ in the world and was the #5 most played track at TomorrowWorld.
2016 is shaping up to be Henry’s biggest year yet. Annie Nightingale tapped Fong for her highly regarded Quest Mix series following his back-to-back chart toppers, with the Halfway House collaboration “F.E.A.R (feat Sanjin)” reaching #1 on Beatport Electro House and his remix of “The Riddler” taking the #2 spot on Beatport Hip Hop. In addition to releasing on Calvin Harris’ Fly Eye imprint, Fong has received co-sign from Tiesto, who put out the massive club hit “Turn It Up” featuring Mr. V on his Musical Freedom label. |
