AARP’s Boomer Superstar Contest which is setting out to show that talent is truly ageless! AARP, powered by American Idol Live! is calling all Baby Boomers looking to become America’s next big singing sensation and launching a national search to make one lucky person’s dream a reality. The contest, which is open to anyone born between 1946 and 1964, will give Boomers the chance to compete for a $5,000 prize and an audition with music label, 19 Recordings! The Boomer Superstar contest is part of AARP’s year-long [email protected]+ initiative which celebrates the last of the Baby Boomers turning 50 in 2014.

Contestants can submit video entries at www.aarp.org/boomersuperstar and on AARP’s Facebook page through July 11. The general public will help to determine the top eight finalists via online voting and finalists will be flown to San Diego to compete in a LIVE singing competition at AARP’s “[email protected]” national event! The top five contestants will perform in front of a live audience of AARP members and a celebrity panel of judges, which include Grammy Award-winning musician/ producer Emilio Estefan and Grammy Award-winning R&B/jazz vocalist Patti Austin.

Working to show that dreams have no expiration date and there is the real possibility of reaching your goals later in life, AARP will also be sponsoring the 41-city American Idol Live! tour, which kicks off June 24 in Binghamton, NY.
