June 9th Parsippany, NJ – Alternative rock band A Boy Named John have released their new single, “Lost in the Haze” via New Noise Magazine. Stream it here: http://bit.ly/1Yc2UA5. The track comes from the band’s forthcoming album, So We Live | So We Die set to release on June 24th. The album is the band’s first full-length release, featuring production credits from Kevin Kumetz (I Am the Avalanche, With The Punches, Seaway) and Michael White (Whitney Houston, 3 Doors Down, The Rolling Stones).
For many of the tracks on So We Live | So We Die, A Boy Named John drew inspiration from their peers and the views of most millennials. “Lost in the Haze” is about how our generation and society are too completely distracted by phones and technology to see the world that’s right in front of them,” the band said of the single’s message. “We see people that have become so obsessed with the aesthetics and not about the deep internal meanings of life around them.”
Comprised of Christian Singh (vocals), Josh Lustig (guitar), Jack Lips (guitar), Nick Spillert (bass), Dean Mulligan (drums) and Paul Singh (keyboard, guitar), A Boy Named John is currently performing along the East coast in advance of their album release. The six-piece has shared the stage with prominent alternative rock outfits like You Me At Six, Metro Station, Never Shout Never, The Academy Is… and The Spill Canvas, to name a few. So We Live | So We Die follows the band’s 2014 debut EP, Or So It Seems. A Boy Named John has released three singles from their forthcoming project so far including “Sir Rock,” “Please Excuse the Acronym,” and “Don’t Kill the Messenger,” the last of which earned the band a spot on Alternative Press“#FEELS” Spotify playlist.
A Boy Named John derives their name from middle school band teacher, John SanGiovanni, who offered guitarist Lustig early advice on the band’s first jam session. It’s this initial burst of inspiration that has fueled their music ever since. “We share powerful messages in our music about controversial topics in hopes to inspire our listeners,” the band told NorthJersey.com. Gracing the stages of venues like The Stone Pony, Starland Ballroom and Webster Hall, A Boy Named John aims to motivate and energize the audience every time.
So We Live | So We Die is the first full-length album from A Boy Named John following 2014’s Or So It Seems EP. For more information, please visit: www.aboynamedjohn.com.
