WABC-TV, New York’s No. 1 station and the most-watched television station in the nation, will air “Retail Rescue: Deals & Steals,”a half-hour special focused on helping small businesses impacted by the temporary shutdown orders due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on SATURDAY, MAY 9(7:00-7:30 p.m. EDT).

Co-hosted by Tory Johnson of “Good Morning America”’s “Deals & Steals” alongside Eyewitness News’ Sam Champion, “Retail Rescue” reflects WABC’s ongoing commitment to support its community and struggling businesses during this unprecedented global health crisis.

Highlighting a selection of clothing and accessories brands, a children’sboutique, wellness brands, food businesses and more in the tri-state area, the special will also highlight new ways local businesses are shifting their focus to reach consumers directly. Viewers will be able to shop featured products at an exclusive discounted rate of at least 50%, made only available for 24 hours after the airing of the special. Products can be purchased at abc7ny.com/retailrescue.

Some of the featured businesses on “Retail Rescue” are the following:

  • Andie Swim, a women-owned and staffed size-inclusive swimwear business located in the heart of the garment district, is looking to increase their online sales in order to keep their business afloat and staff employed after its retail partners have closed.
  • BeautyStat is a bestseller on QVC with patented skincare that has received accolades from industry magazines including Allure, Women’s Health and Harper’s Bazaar(TM). Despite closing their factory and reducing employee pay significantly, they continue to donate their dermatologist-approved skincare products to health care workers.
  • Home Bazaar, a 21-year-old wholesale business experiencing devastating cancellations of sales and temporary closures of retail distribution centers, is offering their highly coveted birdhouses for a special price and donating some of the funds to local nonprofit charity Children of Bellevue.
  • Walter’s Hot Dog Stand, the iconic Westchester roadside stand and nationally registered historical landmark, has been impacted with a drastic reduction in its event bookings, sales and food truck business. Despite their circumstances, they have grown their online retail presence allowing customers to purchase their famous mustard and hot dog kits nationwide, and continue to donate food to hospitals, first responders and military personnel.

Viewers can tune in on linear broadcast WABC-TV ABC7 and shop the full list of featured products online at abc7ny.com/retailrescue. The special will also air concurrently nationally on Localish’s linear network and stream on ABC News Live, ABC7NY.com and ABC7NY apps.
