During the chat, Patti talks about Broadway shows and explains “What’s disconcerting and depressing to me is that people think audiences are stupid. Audiences are not stupid. They are given a choice.” When asked what stage production has been the best experience for her, she says “Gypsy. It was a perfect cast and it was directed out of pure love…” Also, when told that she’s asked to keep playing herself on TV, Patti mentions “That’s the scary part. They’re going to Patti LuPone me out of the business…”
