Kathy Halenda returns to the FST stage in the final show of the Summer 2014 Sidekick Series, Somewhere Over the Rose: The Songs and Stories of Judy Garland and Bette Midler. Somewhere Over the Rose plays now through August 31 in the John C. Court Cabaret. Make sure you do not miss your chance to see the show that the Sarasota Herald-Tribune calls“Alive and vibrant.”

A tribute to the songs, styles and stories of two iconic American women. Capturing the spirit of Judy Garland and style of Bette Midler, Halenda brings a renewed existence to these legendary females. Featuring songs such as “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows,” “Wind Beneath My Wings,” and “From A Distance.”

FST Summer Camp: Labels & Jars

Students from Session III of our annual Summer Camp came together to sing a song crafted by our very own Director of Education Beth Duda and Resident Pianist Jim Prosser. “Labels and Jars” was conceived by a statement from a child that came to camp years ago. After a discussion about labels people place on each other, she said “Labels go on jars, that could never describe who we are.”

FST professional teaching artists help students learn truth both onstage and in life. We also offer Youth and Adult classes year round.
