RANGERS TRADE INF TYLER PASTORNICKY TO PHILADELPHIA FOR CASH CONSIDERATIONS
Arlington, Texas—The Texas Rangers today announced the club has traded infielder Tyler Pastornicky to the Philadelphia Phillies for cash considerations.
Pastornicky is hitting .283 with one homer and 19 RBI in 53 games at Triple-A Round Rock. The right-handed hitter opened the year at Double-A Frisco with a .276 average and 5 RBI in 28 games. He also played for Team USA in the 2015 Pan Am Games in July, leading the team with a .450 batting average and 9 RBI in 11 games.
Pastornicky was signed as a minor league free agent prior to the start of the year. He had a .243 average in 124 games with Atlanta from 2012-14.
