Leading up to the album’s release, Relix.com and Jambands.com have exclusively premiered the first single, “Happening Now.” Listen to the song here.SPEED OF LIFE was inspired by all facets of the musician’s life–from beer to babies to music to mayhem–and ranges stylistically from ‘60s funk to modern electronica, featuring both instrumental and lyrical tracks. As Relix.com noted, “The album finds Hollingsworth delving into some familiar sounds and also branching out to new territory. ‘Happening Now’ is a fantastic example of the latter, as the keyboardist explores a synth-filled, electro-pop style that’s most associated with acts like LCD Soundsystem or Cut Copy.” (7/28/14) “Happening Now” is also currently being added at radio nationally.
“With this new album, I was trying to explore some traditional funk elements as well as pop sensibilities,” KYLE explains. “I reached back to my earlier influences and mixed in some newer sounds and sonic flavors. The end result is an amalgamation of old school ‘Kyle’ with a modern sound. The songs speak to my life as a father, musician, brewer and producer. It speaks to my ‘speed of life.’”
KYLE is currently offering fans three free “Hop Tracks” from the upcoming album, each to coincide with the limited edition release of a nationally distributed craft beer by three different renowned breweries from across the country. Just as each beer was designed and handcrafted by KYLE and the respective brewery, each track has been hand-selected to pair with its respectively released brew.
