The Southwest Florida Youth Symphony to perform

at the Capitol Orchestra Festival in Washington D.C.

Fort Myers, FL—The Southwest Florida Youth Symphony has been invited by Music Celebrations International to perform at the Capitol Orchestra Festival on February 14, 2016 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D. C. The Youth Symphony is one of seven select youth orchestras featured to perform at this exclusive music event. The Youth Symphony has also been invited to perform in a joint concert with the Montgomery Blair High School Symphonic Orchestra in Silver Spring, Maryland on February 12. In addition to performing in concerts, the Southwest Florida Youth Symphony has been extended the very special honor by the U.S. Army to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery on Saturday, February 13 at 10:15AM.

The Southwest Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra program is an auditioned group comprised of some of the finest young musicians in our area. An important educational program of the Southwest Florida Symphony, it provides quality symphonic training and performance experience for young musicians. They are coached by professional Symphony musicians, rehearse weekly and perform in their own concert series. Advanced students also have the opportunity to participate in chamber ensembles.
