Florida Cup Rugby Tournament being held in Sarasota
November 7th & 8th
The Florida Rugby Union, has partnered with Sarasota Rugby Club and Visit Sarasota County to host the 2015 Florida Cup Rugby Tournament. The sold out tournament, features thirty Men’s and Women’s Rugby Clubs all
competing for the Florida Cup. It is set to make a large and lasting impact on the Sarasota
community.
The tournament kicks off this coming Saturday morning at 10:00am and concludes with the
Florida Cup Championship matches on Sunday afternoon. There will be forty two different rugby
matches and multiple Youth and High School rugby demonstrations. There is going to be plenty
of action and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.
“This tournament is our traditional start of the Florida Rugby season, we are so excited to host
one of our largest annual events in Sarasota. Having the wonderful support of the Sarasota
Rugby Club and Visit Sarasota County, has already left a lasting impression on this tournament.
We can not wait to see what this event can do to boost rugby in the Sarasota Community.” said

Admission is free and parking is $5. All proceeds go to the newly formed Sarasota Youth Rugby
Academy. After the conclusion of the matches on Saturday everyone is welcome to join us for
the “Rugby Party” at MacAllisters Grill & Tavern. Come meet and eat with the Rugby players,
from 6pm to 10pm on Saturday evening. Macallisters will be running Rugby Food and Beer
specials all evening.

● Saturday, November 7th, games begin at 10am and finish at 5pm
● Sunday, November 8th, games begin at 9am and finish at 4pm
