Critically acclaimed Montreal rock band The Dears partnered with Noisey who are now streaming their new album Times Infinity Volume One. Clocking in at 38 minutes, new songs “To Hold And Have,” “Someday All This Will Be Yours,” “Face Of Horrors” and “Onward and Downward” encapsulates The Dears’ romantic songwriting that ranges from electrifying pop to full-on primal screams; grinding guitar solos to soulful baroque.
Noisey raves “Times Infinity Volume One communicates longing, defeat, rage, and wonder in the form of surging baroque-pop indie-anthems.” Nylon calls first single “I Used To Pray For The Heavens To Fall” “artful, accessible indie rock” and The Dears “a stalwart of orchestral, anthemic rock.” Under The Radar spotlights new song “Here’s to the Death of All the Romance” and calls it “a surging new single that, like much of their best work, somehow manages to sound both restrained and melodramatic.”
Known for a commanding live show, The Dears are currently on an intimate club tour of Canada, and will head south to play a show at New York’s Rough Trade on October 28th before they embark on an extensive North American tour this winter. A lot more dates to be announced shortly!
Times Infinity Volume One was written over a two-year period, and committed to audio at the luxuriant Revolution Recording (Toronto) and Thee Mighty Hotel2Tango (Montréal) studios. The album was produced and mixed by The Dears’ Murray Lightburn, and recorded by Dave Schiffman (Rage Against The Machine), Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire), Efrim Menuck and Thierry Amar (Godspeed You! Black Emperor.)
The Dears will host a live Facebook Q&A next Wednesday, September 30th at 8pm (EDT). Join the conversation at  http://facebook.com/thedears and ask the band about lyrics, music, touring and anything else you’ve ever wanted to know!
The Dears have concurrently recorded and completed Times Infinity Volume Two to be released in 2016.
