Life on the road for a burgeoning band is easily glamorized: The joy of playing a show, the wonder of encountering new places and people, the stories that amass. Yet the lifestyle can also be a trying one: The suffocating isolation of a van, the misery of being separated from home and loved ones, the unspoken grievances that stack tensions high. If you’re unprepared, this life can become your downfall. For Boston’s The Ballroom Thieves, it became their sophomore album, Deadeye, out everywhere Oct 21st. The Thieves are currently on a coast to coast tour in support of the upcoming release.
The band is excited to announce that they will be releasing their first single off of the new album, Anybody Else, this Friday, Sept 30th.
The band talks about Anybody Else:
“Not many of our songs could accurately be described as being ‘happy’ but this one almost gets there. It’s about as close as we’ve come to writing a full-fledged love song, and while it’s not totally free of its rougher, more melancholy parts, neither is love itself.”
Stream the song here before it’s out everywhere this Friday.
