Network’s Monday-Friday Primetime Share Among Spanish-language Broadcast Networks Jumps Four Points vs Last Year to a 31% Share Among Adults 18-49 

“Un Nueva Día,” “Noticiero Telemundo” and “Titulares y Mas” Set Records for Best Quarter Ever

MIAMI – April 2, 2015— TELEMUNDO’s Monday-Friday primetime schedule averaged 765,000 adults 18-49 in the first quarter of 2015, up 15% versus last year, according to Nielsen.  During the first quarter, the network’s primetime schedule garnered a 31% share among Spanish-language broadcast networks in 2015, up four share points vs. last year among adults 18-49, fueled by the success of the 10pm hour, featuring “Dueños del Paraiso,” the Super Series starring actress Kate del Castillo, and the 7pm hour with “Caso Cerrado Edicion Estelar,” both of which delivered their best first quarter performance ever in their respective day parts.

The first quarter also was strong for TELEMUNDO’s news programs, with the morning show “Un Nuevo Día” setting a new record for the best quarter ever for a TELEMUNDO morning news program, averaging 322,000 total viewers and 150,000 adults 18-49, growing 46% and 36%, respectively vs. last year. 2015 brought the best quarterly results ever for the nightly news “Noticiero Telemundo,” averaging 990,000 total viewers and 407,000 adults 18-49; increasing 13% and 16%, respectively vs. the prior year. It also was the best quarter ever for its daily sports entertainment show “Titulares y Mas,” which averaged 451,000 total viewers and 253,000 adults 18-49, up 46% and 34% respectively vs. last year.

The network ended the quarter on a high with the premiere of “La Biblia,” the Emmy-nominated epic miniseries from Executive Producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, which ranked as TELEMUNDO’s highest-rated premiere ever at 8pm among total viewers, reaching an audience of 3.2 million.
