STATEMENT FROM MAYOR RAHM EMANUEL ON PAUL KONERKO’S RETIREMENT FROM THE CHICAGO WHITE SOX
“Few players have displayed the class, resolve, and grit that Paul Konerko has shown in his 16 years with the White Sox, and yesterday’s tribute was fitting for someone who has given so much joy to so many in our city. Chicagoans thank Paul Konerko for his leadership and honor his tremendous career as he takes the field one last time. Today all Chicago with one voice is chanting ‘Paulie, Paulie, Paulie.’ “
