SPIRIT SIGNS HOT WRITER/ PRODUCER CHARLES “CHIZZY” STEPHENS
TO GLOBAL MUSIC PUBLISHING DEAL
LOS ANGELES (June 25, 2014) – Spirit Music Group, a leading independent music publisher, announced today the signing of a global music publishing deal with writer and producer Charles “Chizzy” Stephens. Through the deal, Spirit will provide a wide range of creative services for Chizzy’s complete back catalog and future works. Chizzy joins Spirit’s burgeoning roster of urban writer/ producers.
Chizzy has placed two songs on J-Lo’s 2014 record, A.K.A., titled ‘Same Girl’ and ‘TENS’, co-wrote and produced an emotional ballad track titled “Forever That Man” on Candice Glover’s debut LP and was a featured panelist member during ASCAP’s 2014 EXPO for One-on-One Sessions (Audia-Technica) and iStandard Rapper and Producer Showcase.
In addition to working with Jennifer Lopez and Candice Glover, Chizzy’s music has achieved major placements with artists such as Chris Brown and KPOP group B1A4. Chizzy has also placed a variety of custom made pop and hip hop music for TV shows such as: A&E’s Beyond Scared Straight, BET’s Being Mary Jane, The Search For The Coldest Emcee Campaign by Coors Light and more!Spirit looks forward to a creative partnership with Chizzy that will continue to garner theflourishing career of this young breakout writer/producer.
Chizzy, an Augusta, Georgia native, began his musical training learning on the trumpet, but it was the sounds of Dr. Dre and Master P that would inspire him to focus on the keyboard. From a young age, Chizzy’s ability to develop solid pop and R&B projects earned him notice from GRAMMY Award-winning producers Luis Resto (“Lose Yourself,” “Without Me”), Urban Kris (8 Mile Soundtrack, Eminem) and DJ Head (Devils Night, The Eminem Show). After attending Full Sail University with a degree in Recording Arts and Entertainment Business, Chizzy began working with Poe Boy Entertainment, Plies, and Rick Ross. Currently, Chizzy is working with Justin Beiber.
