Beckman Unicorn, in association with OmniVerse Vision and SpectiCast, brings Jo Clifford’s critically acclaimed stage adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations The Play directed by Graham McClaren on DVD available exclusively through Amazon. Filmed live at the Vaudeville Theatre in London in February 2013 as part of Charles Dickens’ bicentennial tribute, this was the first time Great Expectations had been performed theatrically in the West End. The screenings received rave reviews, with US cinemas hosted sold-out specialty screenings of the production one month later.
Celebrating the triumph of taking a literary classic from a reader’s imagination to the West End stage, the DVD launch of Great Expectations will allow everyone from American students and fellow Dickens’ aficionados the opportunity to appreciate this theatrical interpretation.
SpectiCast’s Mark Rupp says, “This is an excellent opportunity for libraries, schools and colleges to use this theatrical production of Great Expectations to supplement their English literature course.”
Jo Clifford’s brilliant adaptation stars Jack Ellis as Jaggers, Chris Ellison as convict, Magwitch, and Paula Wilcox taking on the role of the tragic and haunting Miss Havisham.
Paul Nivison also stars as Adult Pip, Grace Rowe as Estella and introducing Taylor Jay-Davies as Young Pip.
The DVD also includes bonus interviews with director Graham McLaren, Jo Clifford, Gregory Nash, Lucinda Dickens-Hawksley, and actor Simon Callow.
The DVD can be purchased exclusively through www.amazon.com for $19.99.
