Generally regarded as the biggest St Patrick’s Day block party in Sarasota County, but also one of the most generous, as the proceeds from the event benefit the Sarasota YMCA Youth Shelter. The Shamrock’s annual shindig celebrating all that is Irish returns on March 17th for what promises to be 15 hours of music, great food, drinking, and the finals of the pub’s renowned Limerick Contest, and more drinking.
According to Derek Anderson, the pub’s owner, Bradenton’s Have Gun, Will Travel will be headlining an eclectic collection of musicians including Andy Thomas, Ship of Fools, Passerine, Sons of Hippies, Hail Dale and Big Blu House along with the City of Sarasota Pipe Band.
