“Nico’s music is written in the Venezuelan style and reflects indigenous melodies and folk tunes from his native land. The music is beautifully written, fresh and exciting to listen to. The ensemble consists of flutes, piccolo, alto and bass flutes, percussion and cello. The performers are local professional freelance musicians along with guest artists from New England. The concert promises to dazzle the audience with beautiful melodies and energetic dance rhythms from Venezuela” says Bento-Rei who will be performing on bass flute.

“Nico will speak briefly about his music evoking a casual listening experience. The public is encouraged to attend. We know that you will enjoy this presentation of rarely performed music and that it will leave you refreshed and renewed!”

Nicolas Real has his doctorate of music from Temple University in Philadelphia in flute performance and composition. He has studied composition and flute performance at the School of Music, College of Art at the University of the Andes, has taught at the Simón Bolívar Conservatory, Latin American Flute Academy and has performed in the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra.
