Urban Expositions, producer of the Houston Art Fair (formerly the Houston Fine Art Fair) is pleased to announce new venue and dates for the contemporary and modern art and design fair.
Presented by 45 international art galleries featuring modern and contemporary art and design, the sixth annual Houston Art Fair opens Thursday, September 29 with an Opening Night Preview and runs through Sunday, October 2 at the Silver Street Event Space.
“We are thrilled to relaunch the Houston Art Fair and to promote Houston as an arts destination in September. We have long known what a gem the city is, and we are excited to bring this international art fair to Houston, home to some of the best museums in the country and a passionate arts community,” says Donna Davies, Vice-President of Urban Expositions Art Group. See article in the Houston Chronicle.
Silver Street is located in the heart of the Washington Avenue Arts District, home to the largest concentration of working artist studios in the country. The Fair will reflect Houston’s sophisticated and diverse collecting practices, where art enthusiasts will encounter an international cross-section of works in all media. Gallery presentations will focus on modern and contemporary masters, mid-career and emerging artists from around the globe.
New this year, gallery participation is by-invitation-only, therefore only select galleries will be invited to apply. All submissions will be reviewed and ultimately an elite roster of galleries will be accepted. HAF will also include onsite installations and special projects, plus an invigorating program of panel discussions and events designed for both novice and experienced collectors.
