New Daktronics LED Video Displays for Frisco RoughRiders

Dr Pepper Ballpark to feature four new displays

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Mar. 4, 2015 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, was selected by the Frisco RoughRiders (Double-A/Texas Rangers) and the City of Frisco, Texas, to bring four new LED video displays to Dr Pepper Ballpark. The new main display and three new fence displays will add a total of roughly 5,250 square feet of video display space to help enhance the game-day experience in 2015.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Daktronics and its industry-leading technology on the installation and support of our new state-of-the-art HD video board and outfield LED displays,” said RoughRiders’ CEO & Managing Partner Chuck Greenberg. “When our new ownership group took over operations of the RoughRiders last summer, we immediately sought to significantly enhance the fan experience at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The center piece of our planning was working with Daktronics to create the most stunning video and visual experience in all of Minor League Baseball.”

The new main outfield display will measure approximately 32.5 feet high by 85 feet wide to provide more than 2,750 square feet of live video and instant replays. It features variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or to be separated into multiple different zones to show any combination of scoring information, statistics, graphics, animations and sponsor messages.

The three fence displays will be installed along the left field line, left center field and right field. The left field line display will measure 9.5 feet high by 68.5 feet wide, the left center display will measure 7 feet high by 85 feet wide and the right field display will measure 7 feet high by 169 feet wide. These displays can show versatile content such as up-to-the-minute statistics, out-of-town scores and other desired content while also providing the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events.

All of these displays will feature a 15 HD pixel layout to show crisp, clear imagery with wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the ballpark. They will also incorporate Daktronics industry-leading environmental protection to ensure the displays operate as expected no matter what the weather may bring.

“We’re excited to continue our partnerships with the Frisco RoughRiders, Dr Pepper Ballpark and the City of Frisco,” said Dan Fjeldheim, Daktronics sales. “All of these displays will provide more information and entertainment for the fans while elevating the in-game atmosphere. We’re looking forward to seeing everything installed and fired up for their first game this spring.”

Daktronics will also be including its powerful Show Control System with this installation. This industry-leading system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution. In addition to the equipment installation, the RoughRiders will also receive a bank of hours for the creation of digital content to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services. This content will consist of any mixture of sponsorship messages, crowd prompts, headshots, game opens and venue announcements at the request of the team.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
