 BOO RAY
 RELEASES THIRD ALBUM
SEA OF LIGHTS
TOUR INCLUDES FOUR NASHVILLE SHOWS

Nashville-based outlaw country singer/guitarist BOO RAY has released his third studio album, Sea Of Lights and has been on the road all summer long, with dates booked into November, including four upcoming Nashville performances.  Upon its release in July, Sea Of Lights drew immediate acclaim and airplay, landing on the Americana Radio Chart, the Roots Music Report “Top Country Album” chart and Alternative Root’s “Root 66” chart.
The North Carolina native splits his time between Nashville, Los Angeles and Athens, GA, and those experiences come through in the songs. Following in the footsteps of southern songwriters who journeyed to Los Angeles like Jerry Reed, Kris Kristofferson and Gram Parsons, Boo Ray headed out west in 2006 after doing a couple of years of steady troubadour work in the southeast.  It’s there where he met longtime collaborator/producer Noah Shain and put together the top-notch band for the Sea Of Lights sessions.
Equal parts bar fights, road stories and campfire lies, Sea Of Lights is honest and unapologetic Boo Ray music.  Ray says, “I’m not writing to impress the aficionados or experts. It’s a trucker album, it’s a party album, and I hope it’s a good album to play cards to and a good road trip album.”
The Daily Country explained that “Whether you’re on a road trip, a back porch or a honky-tonk throwing one back, Sea of Lights fits the bill.”  And the Roots Music Report said, “Perhaps it was the vintage Nashville recording gear he used that makes Boo Ray’s LA session sound sooooo Music City.  The Carolina-bred singer/guitarist declares his love for ‘Redneck Rock & Roll’ on the leadoff track and delivers much of the same on a set that’s heavy on roadhouse kick with just a touch of studio slick.”  The Red Dirt Report added, “Musically, this native North Carolinian, with his raspy, worn-out-boots voice (not a pretty boy, bro-country Florida-Georgia Line type), is able to capture an authentic ‘outlaw country’ sound.”
Sea Of Lights was recorded in Los Angeles at producer Noah Shain’s White Buffalo Studio and Ray was joined by some of his favorite musicians: drummer Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), bassist Paul Ill (Christina Aguilera), guitarist Sol Philcox-Littlefield (Jake Owen), Dallas Kruse on Hammond B3 and pedal steel player Smith Curry (Taylor Swift), plus backup singers Todd and Troy Gardner.

The 5 Spot
Sea of Lights, by Boo Ray, is a bonafide winner from beginning to end.”
Americana Daily, 8/18/16
Sea of Lights, Boo Ray’s third effort, recorded live in the studio, embodies all that is Americana, and with great dexterity.”
The Corner News, 8/24/16
“Ray comes from the Elizabeth Cook (via Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt) school of country music: live it, sing it, and play it hard. Sea Of Lights is a fine record, and Boo Ray demands to be heard. His voice is clear and insistent. Accept the challenge.”
County Standard Time, August 2016
“Boo Ray’s new album, Sea of Lights, overflows with country/rock songs that smolder with the intensity of a citywide blackout.”
Parc Bench, 8/16/16
