Theatre Organist Tom Hoehn Performing Popular Christmas Music

on a Historic Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ

Tuesday, December 19 § Grace Church

(Sarasota, FL) As a musical gift to the community, the Manasota Theatre Organ Society (MTOS) is presenting a free concert of popular Christmas songs and traditional carols featuring noted theatre organist Tom Hoehn, Tuesday, December 19, 6-8:30 p.m., at Grace Church, 8000 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota. Hoehn will perform on the historic Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ that MTOS owns and maintains at the church. In addition to the live music presentation, guests can enjoy the large display of outdoor lights, which are choreographed to recorded music. Grace Church’s outdoor display of Christmas lights runs December 11-25, 6-9 p.m.

Manasota Theatre Organ Society, a branch of the American Theatre Organ Society, was founded in November 1991. Its first project was the renovation of the 1926 Aeolian Duo Art pipe organ in the Charles Ringling Mansion, which is now part of New College of the University of South Florida. MTOS strives to promote the awareness of America’s theater pipe organ heritage and continues to present concerts featuring the 4/32 Wurlitzer theater pipe organ located at Grace Church in Sarasota. MTOS presents public performances featuring world-class theatre organists on an annual. In 2018, it will present three concerts on Sunday afternoons at 2:30 p.m. Dave Wickerham will perform on January 21; Clark Wilson will accompany the silent film “Seven Chances” on February 18; and Pierre Fracalanza will be featured on March 18.
