ROCK DUO DECODED PREMIERE UNRELEASED TRACK “LOVE IS DEAD”
“TOPANGA” EP DELUXE EDITION DUE OUT JULY 14 |
Los Angeles, CA – July 8, 2015 – Los Angeles rock duo Decoded premiered “Love Is Dead,” an unreleased song off of their forthcoming EP “Topanga” [Deluxe Edition]. The idea of pure, true love and not giving up inspired singer Derek Jordan to write the song. “Love Is Dead” can now be streamed on Ground Sounds and Decoded’s official Soundcloud.
“This song is tied into “Topanga” where we are told to believe at a very young age that pure, innocent love is real,” singer Derek Jordan explained. “Some people are fortunate to find it. Others, like myself, not so much. So you continue to hold onto hope as you go through your teenage years, and then your twenties. Then you’re in your thirties and wonder, this may never happen for me. It becomes a phantom of an ideal. You keep chasing but its never there. But I am an optimist and where people have given up on love, I know how important it is and how much I want it. Life has no meaning without love. So in essence, “Love is Dead” is about how all signs point to the extinction of love, yet I still believe in the idea of it. I can’t give up.”
Decoded was conceived in Los Angeles in 2012 & is comprised of Derek Jordan (Vocals and Guitar) and Heather Miller (Drums). With pop arrangements, catchy hooks and added elements of grunge, blues, classic rock, lounge, Native American influenced rhythms and melodies, the band not only grabs your attention with songs but has also been able to create their own sonic niche in the flooded landscape of sub-genres.
The band will release their EP Topanga (Deluxe Edition) on July 14, 2015.
