Premieres Eerie New Video
via Dread Central
October 31st, 2016 – New York, NY – Singer-songwriter Liz Brennan has premiered the visuals for her single “Body Bags” today! Fans can stream the video exclusively via Dread Central HERE. This track is the latest from Liz Brennan since her single “Expected to Fly,” released earlier this year.
“I wrote the song halfway as a joke,” Liz Brennan told Dread Central of the original track. She was inspired while performing at a friend’s party. After beginning the track with an innocent, “Hey you,” Brennan thought, “What is the creepiest thing I can say that they won’t expect next…” and “Body Bags” was born. After collaborating with musicians and producers across the country and around the globe, the final product is an eerie Halloween anthem playfully delivered with Brennan’s signature whimsy.
The on-edge visuals for “Body Bags” have viewers witnessing the demise of a man at the hands of his remorseless, ruthless love. Brennan takes us all through the story, from lovebird’s bliss on the beach to her lover’s death by poison – followed by a trip through the graveyard. Pieced together with bright cartoon clips of devious pop culture favorites and animated icons, “Body Bags” serves as a creative collage of deviance and destruction. On her inspiration for the video Brennan explains, “I intended to make it ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ meets ‘Cry Baby.” Shot over the course of three days and involving a faux battered corpse and a last minute coffin rental, the shooting process stayed true to its spooky, horror-inspired form.
Coming from a classical music and operatic background, Liz Brennan is entering the pop-rock scene with a bang. “Brennan’s music is catchy as hell, but also on the darker side,” remarked The Prelude Press of Liz Brennan’s unique brand of “demented pop.” Gathering inspiration from her varied musical background, she’s managed to carve her own niche in the often over-saturated modern pop market. Brennan’s sound have been praised by Eat Sleep Breathe Music who raved that, “Her music is only surpassed by her ferocious vocals and whimsical lyrical content.”
