Fathom Events, Picturehouse Entertainment and Fiery Angel Present this Iconic Shakespeare Play in Movie Theaters on November 30 Only

DENVER – October 12, 2015 – Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s production of “The Winter’s Tale” comes to select U.S. cinemas for a special one-night event on Monday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m. local time, presented by Fathom Events, Picturehouse Entertainment and Fiery Angel. Branagh Theatre: The Winter’s Tale will be broadcast to cinemas from London’s Garrick Theatre and stars a remarkable group of actors including Dame Judi Dench as Paulina, alongside Tom Bateman (Florizel), Jessie Buckley (Perdita), Hadley Fraser (Polixenes), Miranda Raison (Hermione) and Kenneth Branagh as Leontes.

Tickets for “Branagh Theatre: The Winter’s Tale” can be purchased online by visiting www.FathomEvents.com, or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in over 330 movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website (linked to theater list if available) (theaters and participants are subject to change).

Kenneth Branagh said, “I am very pleased indeed to be working with Picturehouse and Fathom to bring The Winter’s Tale live into cinemas in the US. This play has epic dimensions but also great intimacy, and I believe that, working with the talented director Benjamin Caron, we can bring the immediacy and excitement of the live stage production into cinemas. We will employ film techniques to make these broadcasts truly cinematic, without in any way compromising the theatrical experience.”

“The Winter’s Tale,” Shakespeare’s timeless tragicomedy of obsession and redemption is reimagined in a new production co-directed by Rob Ashford and Kenneth Branagh, following their triumphant staging of Macbeth in Manchester and Manhattan. King Leontes appears to have everything: power, wealth, a loving family and friends, but jealousy sets in motion a chain of events with tragic consequences.

“We are excited to see Kenneth Branagh’s interpretation of this seminal play and it’s wonderful to be able to experience the high level of talent in this production in theaters across the U.S.,” said Fathom Events Vice President of Programming Kymberli Frueh.

Marc Allenby, Director of Distribution at Picturehouse Entertainment said, “At Picturehouse we are huge admirers of the work of Ken and his collaborators, and it is with great pride that we look forward to bringing this exciting new production from the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company to cinemas across the US.”
