“… Howling Bells return with laser-focus for their new release, Heartstrings. From the darkly-shaded, buzzing guitar sonics typical of the mid-80s…to the garage-bred, girl-pop vibe of new-millennial bands such as Dum Dum Girls and Best Coast …the listener is left slightly breathless with a number of high-quality tunes rattling around in their head. Thankfully there’s always the repeat button.” –KCRW

“Confident song structures, accomplished, fearless vocals and beautifully put-together instrumentation…” – Drowned In Sound

“Heartstrings may be a rather trippy journey, but be assured, you are at all times with a capably lucid and extremely thoughtful driver.” – The 405

“The emotional center of Heartstrings remains simultaneously majestic, magical, and magnetic…Howling Bells seamlessly merge cinematic soundscapes and subtle pop melodies within this enigmatic and engaging piece. It’ll resonate in hearts for years to come…” – Artist Direct

“…a band to watch.” – MXDWN

“…[Heartstrings] balances shoegaze, 90s alternative rock and late 80s synth-pop, all the while showing the band’s considerable growth and strong hand at songwriting. These are the types of songs you want to swim in, to feel the keyboards, guitars and reverb swirl around you as they shimmer and pulse.” – Glide Magazine
