Happy Birthday Andy by Jack Dowd
to be installed at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport
Thursday, Oct. 15 at 8 a.m. Dowd’s Andy Warhol sculpture will be installed
SARASOTA, FL – Visitors to Sarasota International Airport will receive a very artistic greeting from Andy Warhol this season. Artist Jack Dowd’s 12 foot Happy Birthday Andy sculpture will be installed in the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport in collaboration with SRQ, local artist, Jack Dowd and the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County.
“Andy Three Times” as the sculpture is sometimes referred to, will be installed outside the passenger arrival area on Thursday morning October 15. This installation is a part of the Alliance’s “Opportunities for Artists” program. “We are very excited to partner with SRQ and Jack Dowd to expand our mission of making more opportunities available for area artists” stated Arts and Cultural Alliance Executive Director, Jim Shirley
Happy Birthday Andy will be greeting travelers coming and going at the beautiful Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport throughout the coming season. “You never know” stated Jack Dowd, “he may stay around long enough to celebrate his 88th birthday anniversary with us.”
