“Golden Dandelions,” the first single from Barns Courtney’s forthcoming debut album, is out now and available HERE. The track, which was produced by Killer.b. (The Prodigy / Carl Barat & The Jackals / Ho99o9), will impact Triple A radio on June 19 and the Alternative format on June 27.
After several solo acoustic tours, Barns Courtney is now on the road with a full band. He kicked off his current North American headline run with a sold-out show at Barboza in his hometown of Seattle, WA. Tonight, he’ll play The Ballroom at The Outer Space in Hamden, CT.
Barns Courtney was named alongside Dua Lipa and Stormzy as one of the acts that should be on your radar at The Governors Ball this weekend by amNY.com. He will perform on Sunday, June 4. Billboard tipped Barns Courtney as one of the “killer” artists “you don’t know that you need to see” at this year’s summer music festivals. He will also perform at LaurelLive, Firefly, Summerfest, Osheaga and Lollapalooza. See below for itinerary and visit www.barnscourtney.com to purchase tickets.
Billboard said, “Barns Courtney lit up the crowd at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles….His deep George Ezra-esque vocals with the husky Americana rhythm of Mumford & Sons, along with his attention-grabbing stage presence left no boring moments throughout the concert.” His shows are consistently recommended as picks of the week by such publications as buzzbands.la and The Dallas Observer, which noted, “His raspy vocals, genuine talent and nod to early R&B make his music a must-listen.” Listen SD observed, “Barns Courtney will make you swoon with his special brand of bluesy folk-pop. We love his song ‘Fire’ but frankly all of his songs are fire.”
In this short clip, which features footage of his dynamic live performances, Barns Courtney says, “I guess when I make music, I feel connected to something that’s much bigger than me. I feel like I’m properly living the life that I’m supposed to lead. Call me naïve, but I feel like everyone is born with a pull towards something or other and mine was to perform.”
The young artist has already surpassed 45 million combined streams globally – including more than 22 million streams in the U.S. “Hands,” from his debut EP, The Dull Drums, was tapped for this recent Victoria’s Secret commercial while “Fire,”a Top 5 hit at Triple A radio and a Top 15 hit at Alternative, has been heard in ads for the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack and BOSE Soundsport Wireless Headphones and for the FIFA 17 trailer. “Glitter & Gold” climbed to #1 on the Spotify UK Viral Chart and has been heard in promotional spots for Miller Lite, Showtime and the critically acclaimed film The Founder. Barns Courtneyhas opened for The Who at London’s Wembley Stadium and has also supported Ed Sheeran, Elle King, Blur, Fitz and The Tantrums, Tom Odell and The Libertines.
