GLOBAL DANCE MUSIC SUPERSTAR HARDWELL

SET TO HEADLINE THE FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX 2023

The Dutch DJ confirmed to perform in Baku on Saturday, April 29th

Baku, Azerbaijan (March 10th) – Baku City Circuit, Promoter of the FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX – the race where you can always Expect the Unexpected – is delighted to confirm that Dutch DJ, music producer and global phenomenon Hardwell will be performing in the Baku Boulevard Fanzone on Saturday April 29th, right after the culmination of the season’s first F1 sprint race!

The addition of the award-winning artist to the weekend’s line up continues to underline that the seventh successive F1 race in Baku is the place to be for unrivalled action, astonishing drama, exhilarating entertainment, and unforgettable experiences.

The FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX has fast become a fan-favourite race, attracting thousands of visitors from around the world and offering some of the most exciting and unpredictable moments in Formula 1 history. From fierce on-track battles, intense clashes and races decided on the very last lap, when F1 comes to Baku on the weekend of April 28th – 30th, fans must always Expect the Unexpected!

After first hitting the Dutch dance music scene at just 14 years old, Hardwell achieved international acclaim ten years later in 2013, when he was named the World Number 1 DJ by DJ Magazine for two consecutive years.

His appeal as a producer would further catapult his status amongst fans and peers, earning countless Beatport No. 1’s with releases like ‘Spaceman’, ‘Apollo’ and ‘Run Wild’, whilst also finding huge success and acclaim remixing for many of pop music’s biggest names, including Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Moby, U2, J Balvin and Coldplay. At the same time, he delivered hit crossover singles working alongside major acts like Craig David, Jay Sean, Austin Mahone, and Jason Derulo. Never straying too far from his electronic roots, Hardwell has also collaborated with DJ friends like Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Steve Aoki, Afrojack, and Tiësto.

Moreover, he has headlined some of the world’s biggest festivals and events, including Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival, and is known for his high-energy performances and infectious beats.

Hardwell already has a strong existing connection the world of motorsport and F1: he was the first DJ to perform a solo event at Germany’s world-renowned Hockenheimring and was also the first DJ to play on the podium at a Formula 1 race when he dazzled music and sports fans at the Mexican Grand Prix.

Most recently, Hardwell has started the year in the strongest sense, teaming up with fellow Dutch artist Maddix to unlock 2023 with a burst of electro energy. Taking David Guetta’s resounding cover of Benny Benassi’s classic ‘Satisfaction’, the Dutch pair carve out a new remake filled with raw, up-tempo energy and indestructible bass chords.

With an extensive entertainment schedule for the weekend already set, the addition of Hardwell to the line-up only serves to make the Baku F1 race weekend even more memorable as fans will now be able to enjoy the best of the pinnacle of motorsport and dance music across three remarkable days in the Azerbaijani capital.
