CULVER CITY, CA – Thursday, December 1, 2016 – getTV celebrates the life and legacy of television icon Florence Henderson with special broadcasts of her rare guest appearance on the 1965 Christmas episode of THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW, airing throughout the month on Sunday, December 4 at 11 a.m. ET; Tuesday, December 6 at 6 a.m. ET; Monday, December 19 at 7 a.m. ET; and Friday, December 23 at 1 p.m. ET. With her infectious charm and natural wit, Florence Henderson was adored by generations of viewers, thanks in large part to her legendary role as Carol Brady on the hit 1969 sitcom THE BRADY BUNCH—forever cementing her status as America’s Favorite TV Mom, and one of pop culture’s most enduring figures. Henderson passed away on November 24, at the age of 82.

The unforgettable episode originally aired in December of 1965, almost four years before Florence Henderson captured the hearts of the country on THE BRADY BUNCH, and puts the star’s talent on full display as she brings the house down with a dramatic rendition of “O Holy Night,” and teams up with Merv for a lively duet of “Winter Wonderland.” Henderson had been a recurring fixture on THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW, dating back to the program’s early days in New York. Additional guests include soulful jazz songstress Barbara McNair, Broadway balladeer Earl Wrightson, “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause” singer Jimmy Boyd, crooner Steven Perry, and series regular Arthur Treacher.
