FLORIDA STATE SENATOR BILL GALVANO NAMED AELC LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR
Palmetto, Florida, April 26th, 2018 – The Association of Early Learning Coalitions (AELC) have honored Florida State Senator Bill Galvano with their “Legislator of the Year Award”.
During the 2018 Legislative Session, Senator Galvano was once again a strong advocate for early learning. His leadership was instrumental in securing additional funding to serve more eligible children, and to support strong and efficient state and local system components. He was also a key supporter in securing funding for the new PEARLS (Preschool Emergency Alert Response Learning System) that will now be implemented state-wide to keep Florida’s youngest children safe as they learn every day.
Paul Sharff, AELC Legislative Chairman, commented: “Senator Galvano goes above and beyond year after year for the children and families of Florida. He is truly a statesman, not a politician. This is a very well-deserved award and we thank him for his continued efforts to support the work of the AELC.”
