Jennifer Koh Now Scheduled to Perform

Violinist Midori recently announced that she is expecting her first child. On the advice of her doctor, she has cancelled several concerts, including the Tampa Bay Times Masterworks performance scheduled with The Florida Orchestra on January 16, 17 and 18.

Jennifer Koh will be the soloist for these concerts, now featuring Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto on this program with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4. Hailed as “an exciting violinist” by The New Yorker and called a “brilliant violinist” by The New York Times, Jennifer Koh has won a variety of awards and honors, including the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, the Concert Artists Guild Competition, and the Avery Fisher Career Grant.

Since her debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at age 11, she has gone on to perform with leading orchestras around the world, including the New York and Los Angeles philharmonics, among numerous others.
