DREAMER BOY RELEASES NEW SINGLE “PUPPY DOG”
December 10, 2019 – Nashville, TN – Today, Dreamer Boy releases his new single “Puppy Dog”: LISTEN HERE. This is the Nashville-based artist’s first release with Slow Play and Caroline.
Building on an artful blend of genres, Dreamer Boy delivers another entrancing and engaging anthem. Citing a wide range of influences from Kacey Musgraves to The 1975 to Tyler, The Creator, lush guitars and cinematic textures bristle against Zach Taylor’s dynamic delivery, tapping into nostalgic whimsy and raw heartbreak. “’Puppy Dog’ is a song we wrote almost a year and a half ago. We’re finishing up the new album as we speak, but I wanted to build a little world around this song and let it stand on its own,” he says about the track. “It’s light hearted but still sincere. It’s hoping that person you’re into finally sees you as more than a friend. I also just wanted to have fun and dance at the shows with this one.” Be on the lookout for the premiere of the music video soon. Fans in Europe can catch Dreamer Boy on tour with Clairo through December 22 – full dates can be found here.
Dreamer Boy is the brainchild and musical project of Belmont grad Zach Taylor, along with his producer Bobby Knepper, creative director Adam Alonzo, and manager Cody Clark. Together, their dreamy, soulful indie pop sound shows a unique and special side to the Nashville music scene.
The single arrives on the heels of his 2018 indie breakout album Love, Nostalgia, which Dreamer Boy supported heavily on the road in 2019, teaming up with Still Woozy for two separate tours, as well a run with Omar Apollo and another with The Marias. Among a tracklisting of fan favorites, “Falling for the Wrong One” cracked 3.8 million Spotify streams as “Lavender” and “Orange Girl” neared the 1 million-mark. Of the record, OnesToWatch wrote, “If ever you need an escape from the confines of reality, then Dreamer Boy’s debut album Love, Nostalgia, is the multi-dimensional narrative of summer romance and teenage dreams,” and Milk.xyz dubbed it, “a combination of simple recollections and poetic storytelling that will leave you with ethereal energy.” Offering their praise, Elevator Magazine summed it up as “one of the best albums I have heard this year.”
Everything sets the stage for more to come from Dreamer Boy in 2020.
