COUNTRY NEW COMER DYLAN JAKOBSEN
RELEASES NEW MUSIC VIDEO
“CAN’T BELIEVE YOU’RE GONE”
PREMIERES ON TASTE OF COUNTRY
(Los Angeles, CA) April 23, 2015 — Seattle, Wash., native Dylan Jakobsen was born during the height of grunge in the mid-’90s and grew up listening to a combination of classic rock. Dylan broke away from the “90’s grunge” mold and found himself as a Country Rock musician. “Nothing’s ever felt more right.” Said Dylan when asked: Why Country? “I’m just creating the kind of music I love and Country’s [become] a part of me.” Dylan uses feel good harmonica riffs and vivid storytelling to captivate his audience within the music.
The country newcomer released a five-song EP in November, and in comparison terms, you can hear everything from Brantley Gilbert to Blues Traveler in its tracks.
The track off the EP, “Can’t believe you’re gone” is now available to watch HERE. Taste of Country premiered the music video today! Check out the premiere here.
“I’m very excited for the release of my new video. I’ve always been one who wants to go out and tell a story but this time I wanted to write something a little closer to home”, says Jakobsen. “As we get older, we realize the people we love are getting older and everyday you risk the chance of losing somebody close to you”.This video is about remembering the time you spent together and honoring their memory. We shot “Can’t Believe You’re Gone” in a small town about 100 miles SE of Seattle. On the anniversary of his father’s death, a son heads to the cemetery to honor his dad and has flashbacks of some of his favorite childhood memories along the way.
Dylan wrote “Can’t Believe You’re Gone” in mid-2014 after hearing the news that his close friend’s grandfather had passed away. He hopes this song can mean as much to each person listening as it does for him and for whom it’s dedicated to.
Jakobsen has been spending plenty of time on the road, playing shows across the U.S., and will keep touring this summer; a complete list of dates is also available on his website.
