The afternoon includes Ladino selections from the Guy Mendilow Ensemble’s new album, Tales from the Forgotten Kingdom. Orchestre National de France at Symphony Hall Next Month!
Known as France’s musical ambassador around the world, Orchestre National de France performs at Symphony Hall next month. Led by conductor Daniele Gatti with pianist Alexandre Tharaud, the celebrated ensemble presents a program featuring Debussy’s “Prelude to the afternoon of a faun,” Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. Artist Connections
Three masterclasses took place earlier this month with soprano Tara Erraught (Longy School, pictured above) and Takacs Quartet (NEC). In November, Soweto Gospel Choir visited the Blue Hill Boys & Girls Club, Dorchester to coach Boston City Singers on South African repertoire, and violinist Jennifer Koh and pianist Shai Wosner presented masterclasses at Longy and NEC.
