CASEY DONAHEW ADDED TO DO IT FOR DURRETT LINEUP AT BILLY BOB’S TEXAS
General admission tickets on sale for the Sept. 8 concert and auction
FORT WORTH, Texas – An already star-studded lineup for the Do It for Durrett Benefit Concert has added another big name.
Casey Donahew will now play as part of the All Stars of Texas Country lineup for the concert that benefits the Richard Durrett Family Fund, which was established in the wake of the passing of Metroplex sports reporter Richard Durrett.
The concert, which will also feature live and silent auctions, is Monday, Sept. 8 at Billy Bob’s Texas at 7 p.m.
Casey Donahew is no stranger to the World’s Largest Honky Tonk, having sold out the Stockyards’ institution three times with his band. That means the trio of All Stars of Texas Country have sold out the venue a combined 15 times. The night will also feature performances by Rhett Miller and Daphne Willis.
“Although I didn’t know Richard personally, as a fan of sports I appreciated his writing and passion for sports,” Donahew said. “It’s tough to lose a loved one at 38, but to leave three small children behind is heartbreaking. Being a father of small children myself, I wanted to contribute as best I could.”
Donahew is a Burleson native who got his start playing in the Stockyards. Since that start more than a decade ago, his band has released several albums, with “Standoff” beings it most recent. The single “Whiskey Baby” spent nearly a month as the top song on the Texas Regional Radio Report.
General admission tickets for the event are on sale at billybobstexas.com and the Billy Bob’s Box Office. The cost is $20 in advance. All tickets at the door are $30. All VIP tickets for the event sold out in less than two hours.
In addition to the concert, there will also be both a live and silent auction.
The silent auction that will include everything from autographed memorabilia from the likes of Dirk Nowitzki, Derek Jeter, Jimmie Johnson, Miguel Cabrera and Nolan Ryan.
And then there’s the live auction.
