This year’s edition of “Rowdytown” will feature different lineups each night featuring hotly tipped up-and-coming talent to offer fans an even bigger party for the weekend. Supporting BIG GIGANTIC on Friday will be 20-year-old Australian music producer Thomas Jack, LA-based Buygore Records producer Jauz, and DeFunk , a Canadian artist that merges modern bass music with the retro sounds of jazz, blues, disco and funk. Saturday’s lineup will feature Los Angeles hip-hop, trap and bass producer RL Grime, the Montreal-based producer Snails who recently teamed up with Big G for the critically acclaimed track “Funk With Me” (listen here), and Two Fresh, the hip-hop/electronic duo of Sherwyn and Kendrick Nicholls. Plus, BIG GIGANTIC will start off each night with a “Big Gigantic Mixtape 2009/2010,” playing a mix of older tunes with a live band right into a good old fashioned Big G throwdown.
Upon its debut in 2012 to a sold-out crowd of more than 9,450 fans, Rowdytown marked the first time an artist ever used projection mapping visuals on the famous rocks of Red Rocks courtesy of Ghost Pixel Visuals , who continue to increase the size of the lighting rigs and power of the visuals every year since. Of last year’s event, Nate Etter from the Denver Post noted, “The show was a production spectacle at a venue known for enormous shows, highlighted by 3D-mapped projections directly on the two main monoliths that were significantly brighter and more creative than when they debuted the technology in 2012. Adding that to a main stage rig with dozens of blinding strobes, multiple LED screens, live video and decibel levels earplug-worthy even from the top of the venue, you were trapped in an immersive, 360-degree sensory experience” (9/29/14). The one-of-a-kind experience, which has sold out in advance every year, has featured an exciting list of artists on its lineups over the years including Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Dillon Francis, GRiZ, Adventure Club, Manic Focus, Savoy, The Floozies, Caked Up, The Motet and many more.

BIG GIGANTIC released their latest single “Get On Up” in early February to rave reviews with DJ Magazine USA hailing it as a “funk-laden bass masterpiece that explains exactly why they’re called Big Gigantic. Mindblowing” (2/9/15). Eric Gossett from Less Than 3 noted, “Big Gigantic taps into the fountain of funk to release an unstoppable flow of glitched-out soul, sax, and twerk that proves that the duo is still one of the rowdiest Rocky Mountain outfits around” (2/5/15) and Dancing Astronaut’s Michael Sundius praised the song saying, “the track progresses from a casual beat to a high energy main section with enough trap stabs and laser-wielding leads to satisfy any festival goer” (2/4/15). Elsewhere, Billboard described it as “a funky, carefree single marked by a catchy saxophone hook and moombahton-style synth stabs” (Matt Medved, 2/7/15), My Music Is Better Than Yours called it “another gorgeous combination of brass and bass” (2/4/15), Sensible Reason claimed, “this track exudes high-energy throughout its entirety” (Kristen Grennan, 2/9/15), Kick Kick Snare simply said, “this song is outlandishly brilliant” (Stephen, 2/6/15), EDM Assassin called it “musical bliss” (Grant Austin, 2/5/15) and Insomniac.com stated, “’Get on Up’ is epic and funky, funky, funky” (2/6/15). Available as a FREE download via their website www.biggigantic.net, you can also listen to the song on their Soundcloud HERE, where is has already been played almost 1.2 million times.

About BIG GIGANTIC:
Formed in 2008, saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli (classically trained with a master’s degree in jazz from the Manhattan School of Music) and drummer Jeremy Salken interpret traditional DJ-based music with live instruments and have successfully created an innovative, distinct sound that’s all their own. Their transcendent live shows are a showcase of brilliant improvisation and a tightly-knit bond between Salken and Lalli, who breathlessly alternates between keys, sax and laptop, building a futuristic wall of sound that keeps the crowd on its feet. The Boulder, CO -based duo leaves no genre off-limits as they channel everything from funk and dubstep to house and hip-hop. Their latest album, THE NIGHT IS YOUNG, was released in February 2014 as a free download on their website www.biggigantic.net, and has already logged 700,000 downloads to date. The album marks the fifth album for the duo following Fire It Up (2009), Wide Awake (2009), A Place Behind The Moon (2010) and 2012’s Nocturnal (which has received more than one million downloads to date). BIG GIGANTIC have spent the last few years on various sold-out headlining tours across the country and received rave reviews from their many festival appearances that have included Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra Music Festival, Hangout, Austin City Limits, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest and Outside Lands among many others. In 2014, the duo made their debut at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden performing with Bassnectar, and also that year teamed up with their good friend Skrillex to be a part of and act as Musical Director of his Bonnaroo Superjam, featuring the likes of Lauryn Hill, Mystikal , Robbie Krieger from The Doors, Damian Marley, Janelle Monae and many more for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
