LOS ANGELES – June 22, 2016 – AXS TV gets the fireworks started with an explosive Fourth of July Red, White and Rock Marathon, celebrating some of the nation’s most beloved artists, on Monday, July 4, starting at 8aE/5aP. The patriotic spectacular puts the spotlight on 10 of music’s biggest names, spanning a wide array of eras and genres, as they take the stage to perform some of their most legendary hits.
The day kicks off with southern rock pioneer John Fogerty at 8aE, as he blazes through an energetic set loaded with Creedence Clearwater Revival classics, as well as hits from his successful solo career. Next, “Surrender” to the sounds of fan-favorite rock trio Cheap Trick at 9:05aE; followed by hit-making pop duo DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES – LIVE IN DUBLIN at 10:10aE. Head south of the border with the Red Rocker in SAMMY HAGAR AND FRIENDS ANNUAL CABO WABO BIRTHDAY BASH at 12pE, featuring appearances by Emeril Lagasse, Guy Fieri, Michael Anthony, Denny Carmassi, and Alex Gonzalez, among others. Then, heavy metal masters rock the world-famous Download Festival in AEROSMITH – LIVE AT DONINGTON at 1:35pE.
The hits keep coming at 3:35pE, as progressive rock mainstays invade Sin City in STYX: LIVE AT THE ORLEANS ARENA LAS VEGAS. Hit the road with Matchbox Twenty, as the pop rock heroes bring their signature hits to Australia, North and South America, Europe, and Asia in MATCHBOX TWENTY LIVE NORTH at 4:35pE; and Country music superstar Willie Nelson brings his “Workin’ Man Blues” to the world’s largest honkytonk in WILLIE NELSON – LIVE AT BILLY BOB’S TEXAS at 6:05pE. The night comes to a close with a double dose of rock n’ roll royalty in CHICAGO AND REO SPEEDWAGON: LIVE AT RED ROCKS at 11pE, bookended by episodes of AXS TV’s original series NOTHING BUT TRAILERS at 8pE and 12:30aE, respectively.
