And AXS TV Highlights Music’s Most Epic Facial Hair with a Roster of Rock Docs & Concerts Featuring ZZ Top, Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, the Allman Brothers, & More

Los Angeles, CA (October 19, 2022)Anthem Sports & Entertainment, Inc., a globally integrated multi-platform media company, and its popular entertainment networks AXS TV and HDNET MOVIES are proud to once again join forces with Movember—the leading global organization dedicated to men’s health —as part of the organization’s annual Movember initiative to help men improve their physical and mental wellbeing, giving them the tools they need to live happier, healthier and longer lives. In addition to Movember-themed content and PSAs, HDNET MOVIES will present a weekly block of carefully coiffed classics every Monday in November, while AXS TV combs through some of music’s most iconic manes in a special Saturday Stack event on November 12.

Since 2003, Movember has proudly stood at the forefront of men’s health advocacy, funding over 1,250 men’s health projects across the globe, challenging stigmas and stereotypes, driving research, and revolutionizing the way that vital health services reach and support men. By investing in the critical realms of prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention, Movember seeks to raise funds and awareness and start important conversations around issues that affect men most. While the movement is known for its iconic moustaches grown by male participants from November 1 to November 30, Movember offers a wide variety of alternatives for men and women, alike who are looking to get involved. In addition to GROW, supporters have the option to HOST their own event, MOVE 60 miles over the course of the month (which represents the 60 men we lose to suicide every hour across the world), or “MO YOUR OWN WAY” a choose-your-own-adventure for those with an outside-the-box idea. As part of the festivities, HDNET MOVIES puts the spotlight on Movember Mondays each week at 8 p.m. ET, with a block of films featuring some of cinema’s most famous facial follicles. The lineup begins on November 7 with hair-raising hits such as Easy Rider, Fuzz, and Breakheart Pass, and also includes Sam Elliott in Fatal Beauty, Charles Bronson in The Mechanic and Messenger Of Death, Richard Pryor in Moving, Burt Reynolds in Malone and Stroker Ace, Kevin Kline and John Cleese in A Fish Called Wanda (Nov. 1), and many more.

Then, on November 12, settle in for a day of flowing locks and lots of rock as AXS TV presents a Movember Saturday Stack packed with in-depth artist profiles, acclaimed music docs, and unforgettable concerts. The block begins at 12 p.m. ET with a star-studded breakdown of The Very VERY Best Of The 70s Mustache Men, and also includes Rock Legends portraits of Queen, ZZ Top, and Santana; insightful features exploring the lives and legacies of The Allman Brothers, Jimi Hendrix, and Prince; and hit-heavy sets by Alan Jackson and Toby Keith, among others.

During the month, both networks will also air Movember-themed displays and interstitial content designed to educate viewers and encourage them to take part in the meaningful movement—airing a series of Movember PSAs that encourage men to “Spot The Signs” and reach out to friends in need; empower them to open up about their feelings and become “A Man Of More Words, featuring personal anecdotes from entertainers and influencers Jonathan Bennett, Logan Henderson, Matthew Santoro, and Scott Sire; and inspire them to ask for help when they need it in the powerful “Suicide Notes” segment, featuring true stories from men who came back from the brink.
