Award-Winning Documentary, ‘How to Change the World,’ Comes to Select U.S. Cinemas with Live Q&A from London Premiere
Fathom Events and Picturehouse Entertainment Present the Inspiring Story About the Birth of the Modern Environmental Movement and Greenpeace Activist Robert Hunter on September 9 Only
DENVER – August 5, 2015 – The critically acclaimed, award-winning documentary “How to Change the World,” comes to select U.S. theaters this September 9, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. local time, presented by Fathom Events and Picturehouse Entertainment. Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and the recent winner of the Environmental Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2015, the documentary looks at the very early days of the modern eco-movement. Using never-before-seen footage, it tells the gripping story of a courageous group of men and women, led by Robert Hunter, who set out to change the world and in the process sparked a revolution.
The event will include an exclusive live Q&A from the London premiere event hosted by respected broadcaster and journalist Mariella Frostrup. The panel will feature legendary fashion designer and longstanding Greenpeace supporter Vivienne Westwood, director Jerry Rothwell, Robert Hunter’s daughter Emily Hunter and other special guests to be announced, discussing the documentary as well as the Greenpeace movement from its earliest days right up to the present.
Tickets for “How to Change the World” will be available starting this Friday, August 7 online at www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices. Fans throughout the U.S. will be able to enjoy the event in nearly 400 movie theaters through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. In 1971 a small group of activists set sail from Vancouver, Canada in an old fishing boat. Their mission was to stop Nixon’s atomic bomb tests in Amchitka, a tiny island off the west coast of Alaska. It was from these humble but brave beginnings that Greenpeace was born. Chronicling the untold story behind the modern environmental movement and with access to dramatic archive footage that has not been seen for over 40 years, the feature tells the fascinating story of eco-hero Robert Hunter and his part in the creation of what we now know as the global organization that is Greenpeace. Alongside a group of like-minded and idealistic young friends in the ‘70s, Hunter would be instrumental in altering the way we now look at the world and our place within it.
