Dear Friends of the Athena Film Festival,

We hope you are settling nicely into fall. Things are really speeding up here at Athena as we gear up for the 2017 Athena Film Festival, but we have so many exciting things happening now that we thought we’d share them with you.

Best,
Melissa, Kitty, and the entire Athena Film Festival Team

NEW SCREENWRITING LAB

The Athena Film Festival is partnering with IRIS to present the inaugural Athena IRIS Screenwriting Lab.

The Lab is designed for female writers who have not yet had a script produced. Screenplays must be feature-length narratives and include one or more strong female characters in a leadership role at the center of the story.  Submissions are open October 1-31, after which eight to ten finalists will be chosen by a committee. Four winners will be notified in January 2017.

For more information on the lab and to apply, click here.

UPDATES & NEWS

In exciting news, our Founding Sponsor, Regina K. Scully was honored last week at the Women’s Media Center Awards. Ms. Scully received the Pat Mitchell Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations, and thank you again Regina for all that you do for the Athena Film Festival.

All Access Passes will go on sale December 1 at our discounted rate of $65.00.

The All-Access pass is the best way to ensure that you have priority access to all festival screenings, panels, and discussions. Doors to each venue will open approximately 30 minutes prior to the screenings and festival pass holders will have priority admission up until 15 minutes before show time. We recommend that you arrive early as seats fill up and films sell out. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis and is limited. Patrons who are unable to be seated for a film may see an alternative available film. All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds.

Individual tickets will go on sale when the line-up is announced in early January.
