. Rolling Stone observed, “[Front woman] Brittany Howard…led the Shakes through the pleading, heart-wrenching soul throwback, swallowing the theater whole with her vocals, which swung easily between ragged and rapturous.”

Today, the band announced the second leg of its 2016 North American headline tour. The summer run will kick off on July 15 at Mud Island Amphitheater in Memphis and include two shows in Chicago – July 19 at the Civic Opera House and July 20 at Aragon Ballroom. The band’s August 9 show at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre has already sold out, so a show has been added on August 10. A ticket pre-sale for the summer shows begins on Wednesday, February 17, at 10:00 AM local time at www.alabamashakes.com/tour. Tickets go on sale to the public beginning Friday, February 19.
Alabama Shakes’ spring tour launches on April 21 at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheatre. Due to the level of demand for tickets, the venue for the April 26 show in Asheville, NC has been changed from Thomas Wolfe Auditorium to ExploreAsheville.com Arena. The band will perform at many 2016 festivals, including Hangout, Sasquatch, Forecastle, British Summer Time Hyde Park and Lollapalooza in Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
