AUSTIN CHRONICLE

“Taymir may be from The Netherlands, but their sound falls squarely in the British pop realm. Their insanely catchy single, “Aaaah” is representative of the fun, poppy feel of the band. Just beware, if you see this band, you will end up dancing.”

The fiery, young group, whose modern take on the 60’s rock sound is garnering comparisons ranging from Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand to The Who, released their acclaimed debut full-length PHOSPHENE in their homeland of The Netherlands in late 2013. In 2014, the group became a force in their home country and topped the Dutch airplay charts with their single “AAAAAH” while stepping out on the international stage after being invited to open the prestigious London Calling Festival at Paradiso in Amsterdam as the only Dutch band on the bill. Last year, TAYMIR continued to build on the world stage performing at over 40 festivals including The Great Escape (England), Eurosonic-Noorderslag (The Netherlands), Berlin Music Week, Reeperbahn Festival (Hamburg), Waves (Bratislava, Slovakia), MaMa (Paris), Culture Collide (Los Angeles) and CMJ (New York). The four-piece also performed at the biggest Dutch festivals Down The Rabbit Hole and Pinkpop sharing the stage with international stars such as The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys, Hozier, The Black Keys, Foals, Ed Sheeran and more. In 2015, TAYMIRtipped as ones-to-watch by MTV Iggy–is ready for another exciting year with the international release of their debut full-length album PHOSPHENE, due out in Europe this spring, and the rest of the world later in the year.
