ABC OWNED TELEVISION STATIONS AND RENTRAK EXPAND COLLABORATION TO COVER ENTIRE STATION GROUP

SEPTEMBER 9, 2014 — The ABC Owned Television Stations Group has expanded its collaboration with Rentrak, the leader in precisely measuring movies and TV everywhere. Rentrak will now work with ABC Owned Television Stations in New York (WABC), Los Angeles (KABC), Chicago (WLS), Philadelphia (WPVI) and Raleigh-Durham (WTVD). These stations join ABC Owned Television Stations in San Francisco (KGO), Houston (KTRK) and Fresno (KFSN).

ABC was the first network-owned station group to sign with Rentrak in 2012 and, under the new agreement, its entire owned station footprint will now utilize Rentrak’s Advanced Demographics ratings information. Since its initial collaboration with ABC, Rentrak has signed agreements with CBS, NBC and FOX. Earlier this year, FOX also signed a deal to go “all in” with its entire station footprint. Currently, 64 percent of network-owned stations are Rentrak clients.
