Update from the Board Chair
Dear Investors, Community Partners, and Friends,
It’s my pleasure to share that today the EDC of Sarasota County Board of Directors voted to appoint Erin Silk, CEcD as our new President & CEO. Please help me welcome her into her new role, as we also express our immense gratitude to Lisa Krouse as she transitions to a well-deserved retirement. Lisa has been an incredible leader, guiding the EDC through a very important time for this organization and our community. She is leaving a legacy of success, conviction and collaboration.
A group of about 40 community stakeholders and partners convened in the Fall of 2022 to interview Erin for the President & CEO role. Since that time, the Board of Directors has been engaged in a vigorous executive and leadership transition plan for Erin. The transition was well-planned and thoughtful. I am extremely confident that, under the mentorship of Lisa, Erin will absolutely excel as our new President & CEO.
While Erin is new to this position, she is no stranger to the EDC. Erin joined the organization in April 2019 as the Director of Business Development Services and was promoted to Vice President of Business Development Services in July 2021 and then Chief Operations Officer in November 2022. We are excited for her continued vision as she leads us into the next generation of this organization.
The EDC team is strong, our Board of Directors is committed to the success of our organization, we have strong partnerships with all our municipalities, over 100 private investors who believe deeply in our mission, and we thank our County Commissioners who voted for full funding of our 2024 Strategic Plan. The future is bright for the EDC and our thriving community!
